We are only four days away from the season start in salmon in Iceland. The first rivers to open are the East bank of Holsa (lower Ranga) and Urridafoss on June 1st, then river Nordura opens on June 3rd and Blanda up north on June 4th.
We are getting seriously excited about the season opening and already the king of fish has been seen in some rivers. I personally had the good fortune of seeing a few freshly run MWS in river Kjos last weekend and what a sight for sore eyes it was. Welcome home!
