Stuck in Iceland on a touristy trip but still want to spend a day out fishing? Not to worry, we can set up a daytrip with a guide and all gear both for trout and salmon fishing.
Salmon & Trout daytrips
Kolskeggur organizes excellent day tours fishing for trout or salmon. Our trips are well suited for advanced anglers as well as beginners.
We offer trips for salmon in rivers within two hour drive from the capital area.
For trout fishing we offer for example the magnificent ice age trout in lake Þingvellir, arctic char fishing in the highlands and more.
For salmon fishing we offer the Lower Ranga and other exciting options.
Sample Itinerary
Anglers will be picked up by their guides in the morning around 7-9 pm and driven to the fishing location.
In most rivers and lakes it is possible to fish for up to 10 hours per day. Usually you will fish until 1pm and then there is a lunch break until 3pm and you fish again until 8-9 pm and then you head back to Reykjavik.
We only sell full days out fishing but it is up to the anglers wishes how long he wants to stay at the river. We are flexible in timing so a half day is possible.

Season dates:
Trout: from April 1st to October 20th
Salmon: from June 1st to October 20th
Inclusive in the package: A guide, transportation and license. We can arrange lunch as well if requested.
Tackle allowed: Depends on the area. Most are fly fishing only but some alow spinner as well.
Quota: Depends on the area, some are strict C&R but some allow a few fish to be taken.
Clothing: As the weather in Iceland can be quite unpredictable it is best to dress in layers, adding or removing according to comfort.
Prices: One angler trout fishing from 990 Eur, salmon fishing from 1690 Eur. Two anglers trout fishing from 690 Eur, salmon fishing from 990 Eur.
Trips are for : All kinds of anglers from the absolute novice to the most seasoned fisherman.
