Holsa East Bank – salmon and sea trout

The East and West Ranga are two of the best salmon rivers in Iceland and each river yields several thousand salmon per annum. Both rivers do not have an estuary straight in to the sea but they flow to a larger main river called Hólsá. Holsa east bank is sold a a separate beat with six rods allowed to fish. There are thousands upon thousands of salmon that run through Hólsá on their way to the Ranga rivers and many of them are caught in Hólsá.

Hólsá has an excellent self catering lodge with six twin rooms – all ensuite. There is of course a jacuzzi and a large veranda with a BBQ.
